The Cheshire Community Food Pantry often hears from families who want their children and teenagers to get involved in helping address hunger in our community. Because volunteer roles at the Pantry are reserved for adults, we created the “Guide for Kids to Help End Hunger in Cheshire” to highlight meaningful, age‑appropriate ways young people can support our mission.

The opportunities below are open to anyone under the age of 18. Families interested in participating should contact info@cheshirefoodpantry.org.

  • Organizing a Neighborhood Food Drive
While nonfood items are mentioned in the Guide for Kids, food donations are always preferred. The pantry’s most up‑to‑date needs are posted weekly on the CCFP Facebook page.
  • Holding a Fundraiser Such as a Bake Sale, Lemonade Stand, or Car Wash
  • Hosting a Tag Sale and Donating the Proceeds to the Pantry
  • Requesting Food or Monetary Donations in Place of Birthday or Holiday Gifts

In addition to these opportunities, the Pantry offers tours and site visits for children who want to learn more about how the food pantry operates and how hunger affects our neighbors. Leaders of youth groups who are interested in arranging a tour or collaborating on a community service project are encouraged to contact info@cheshirefoodpantry.org.
